Claiming to be the "smarter way to roti", the website for the Rotimatic reads: "Rotimatic is the world's first fully integrated solution that measures, mixes, kneads, flattens, cooks, puffs and, delights. All in one!"

The Rotimatic, if the company is to be believed, makes all kinds of rotis - Whole wheat roti, Jowar roti, Bajra roti, Puri, Pizza, Multigrain roti and Roti wrap. All you have to do is, load the ingredients into the machine.

Holy mother of God, @rotimatic. A lakh for an appliance? I've always said that India would be a great market for a product like the rotimatic, but it will have to be somewhere in the 25-40K range. Which means, it needs to be manufactured here in India. pic.twitter.com/qzXnYvVJDy

Earlier in February, a video went viral showing an American chef trying to make roti. And well, he did a great job at it.

The viral video was posted on Instagram by Eitan Bernath, a young chef known for his cooking videos. He describes himself as a chef, author, entertainer, TV personality, and entrepreneur.

To make the roti, Eitan first added some wheat flour to a bowl. He then added some salt and lukewarm water to effortlessly knead a soft dough. While many Indians still struggle with kneading dough, Eitan had no such problem.

He then put some oil on the dough, covered it and let it rest for 20-30 minutes.

After the resting period, he divides the dough and flatten it before cooking it over the traditional Indian tawa. While kneading the dough he also shells out a few tips like mixing the aata with hands as roti is all about the touch and texture. In the end, you can see a perfect round and fluffy phulkas.
